Ok, so this was the year I decided I was going to try my hand at gardening. I planted all kinds of foods, fruits, veggies, and some herbs. I am not a green thumb, and it seems that nothing has really grown. My plants were doing OK until we went on vacation to South Dakota for a week. That was the week that my garden failed! It was super hot and there was no rain that week. With out me here to water the garden and feed the plants, they all took a turn for the worst. Weeds sprouted up and took over! I tried to get on top of it, but we went on another week long vacation just a couple weeks after South Dakota, and that only made it worse!
Now, that we have been home, I've done very little damage control and the lone survivors of my neglect are the tomatoes.
I was pleased to pick 6 lovely tomatoes tonight. (Say that 10 times fast!) I went to get a bag, I came back and my lovely daughters and SMASHED all the tomatoes!
So much for gardening!

My First Blog Post... Sort of
I've never really had a blog before, and I thought it would be fun! And a great place to "Journal" my life! I did a "Live Journal" long, long ago when I was just out of high school, or maybe I was still in high school, either way it was before Mommyhood. Now, here I am sitting on the couch, relaxing with my dear husband after finally getting the kids to bed, blogging about starting my blog. Exciting, I know!
I'm not exactly sure what I'll be blogging about. Adventures with my kids, cooking, healthly living, sewing, scrapbooking or maybe a bit of everything.
I love crafting and DIY projects and cooking and of course I LOVE my girls and my hubby! Right now, I have a lot of projects on my plate.
I'm currently teaching myself how to bake bread from scratch (with out a machine or a mixer). So far, I've made two loaves with the help of my almost 7 year old. They turned out pretty good! I started with a simple white bread recipe, next I think I'm going to try a gluten free recipe.
I am also working on sewing curtains for two bedrooms, 3 dresses for my 1st grader and matching ones for the little girls, a headboard for my room and my daughters. My daughter's headboard is almost done. She picked a wonderful french/country style fabric in lavender which matches her newly painted room perfectly. Just as I was finishing, we decided to add some buttons and ribbon, so, now I'm on the hunt for some satin lavender ribbon to finish that project. The crazy thing is I'm hoping to have all this done by next Sunday! I'll post pictures of my completed projects. I'm thinking the headboard for my room will have to wait. Maybe the curtains too. The ones they have work, they just don't match!
Next on my list of projects: Getting ready for a scrapbooking weekend in September! I haven't scrapbooked in a really, really long time. My youngest is nearly 2 years old and I haven't even started her book! I know it's terrible how far behind I am, but I'll get there. I have a lofty goal of getting completely caught up by her 3rd birthday, so I have a little over a year. With that in mind, I'm going to need to do 2-4 pages a week to reach my goal. More if I want to have really elaborate pages.
I'm starting to think I'm a little crazy!
